About Your PractitionerKiyoshi Yamamoto is a Virginia Medical Board and Nationally Certified Licensed Acupuncturist, and an NCBTMB and Virginia Nursing Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist. He graduated from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He believes the key to overall health comes from balancing body, mind and spirit. He focuses on both the clinical and holistic aspects of the healing art of Acupuncture and Soft Tissue Manipulation, using a combination of western and eastern therapeutic techniques.
Kiyoshi, who is from Japan originally, is exposed to a wide variety of healing art disciplines, and has taught massage at a local massage school. Besides providing patients and clients with acupuncture treatment and massage therapy at Sports Edge Acupuncture Clinic (www.sportsedgeacupuncture.com), Kiyoshi has a portable massage table and is willing to travel to client’s homes in Fairfax County, Virginia for Clinical Massage Sessions. (Currently suspended due to the pandemic.) |

Kiyoshi is also a Chinese martial arts instructor at the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute (www.jowgashaolin.com). In 2003, he began training in both Jow Ga and Shaolin Mizong Kung Fu, as well as Yang Style Tai Chi shortly after. In December of 2017, after nearly 15 years of dedication he became a disciple of Master Momenan and therefore a 5th Generation Jow Ga and 8th Generation Shaolin Mizong lineage holder. He currently teaches Kung Fu classes at the Institute and helps organize martial arts, Lion & Dragon Dance events performed by the Institute throughout the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. He has also studied Spring Forest Qi Gong (www.SpringForestQiGong.com) under Dr. Hon K. Lee, LAc., Dipl.OM, DMQ, DAOM of Sports Edge Acupuncture Clinic and been incorporating what it can bring to a healing process to enhance his practice.
Despite the fact we are still in the midst of the world-wide pandemic, which started in March, 2020, he is certainly hopeful that he can help you keeping "it" balanced, whatever "it" is (let it be a good health, stress, or life in general), by integrating all the knowledge he acquired into his practice.
